4. Bible entropy
Let us now look at the Greek word for "entropy" is used in ancient times in the Bible.

The modern Greek word "εντροπή" (ehn-tro-PEE) ≈ "entropy"as a scientific word for the English "entropy".

The modern Greek word "ντροπή" (dro-PEE) ≈ "shame, disgrace" where the leading epsilon "ε" was dropped since ancient times.

Note: Due to the way Greek is pronounced, and that the "ε" dropped off, the word would have been pronounced as "e-dro-py" and not "en-tro-py" (where the beginning "nt" sound is as an English "d" sound). The ancient Greek word "εντροπή""turning away, shy, disgrace"where the progression was from, originally, turning away, shy, shame, and, by New Testament times, mostly shame or disgrace.

Can you see how "turning away from" could mean "confusion" in battle, as in the "deer in the headlight look" or "cowardliness" or "shy" as in "turning away" from attention, or shame, as in "turning away" in shame or disgrace?

In the area where I grew up, I heard children, adults, etc., sometimes described as "backward" or "backwards". I thought that this might mean slow or not as quick-thinking as some, so I asked. It turns out, that the term meant that the person was "shy" or what would otherwise be called "bashful".

The Greek prefix "ετράπη-" as in the modern Greek word "εντραπήσονται" (ehn-tra-PEE-son-teh) ≈ "ashamed" appears many times in the OT (Old Testament) and GNT (Greek New Testament).

Interestingly, it is translated as "reverence" in the KJV (King James Version) when it appears in the parable of the son in Matthew 21:37, Mark 12:6 and Luke 20:13. Here is Matthew 21:37.

Luther used the German word "scheuen""shy away" as a straightforward translation of the Greek but the English versions appear to have migrated to the word "reverence" perhaps influenced by the Latin word "vereor""have respect for" as used above.
