There are times when people and authors will use third person statements in a reflexive way to refer to themselves.
Some small children will refer to their actions in terms of their name, such as a child called "Caleb" saying about himself, "Caleb did this".
Jesus often uses a third person pronoun to refer to himself in terms such as "son of man". Since "man" is "Adam", this could be "son of man", "son of Adam", "son of dirt", etc.

At the end of Deuteronomy, Moses dies. Since Deuteronomy was written by Moses, some claim that Moses wrote about his death before he died, in the third person.

The Gospel of Mark is Peter's Gospel as told to and written by Mark. It appears that Mark may have added himself in the account using third person reflexive references as several statements made would require inside information of the person involved in order to accurately write an account.
