1. Song: Only trust Him
The hymn "Only trust him" was written in 1874 by Methodist minister John Stockton (1813-1877). Other names for this hymn are the shorter "Come, every soul" and the longer "Come, every soul by sin oppressed, There's mercy in the Lord".

John H. Stockton was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church as well as a musician and composer. Two song books: A Presbyterian by birth, he was converted at a Methodist camp meeting in 1838.

2. Verse 1
Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
There's mercy with the Lord;
And He will surely give you rest,
By trusting in His word.
Only trust Him, only trust Him,
Only trust Him now;

He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.

3. Verse 2
For Jesus shed His precious blood
Rich blessings to bestow;
Plunge now into the crimson flood
That washes white as snow.
Come to Jesus, come to Jesus,
Come to Jesus now;

He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.

4. Verse 3
Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
That leads you into rest;
Believe in Him without delay,
And you are fully blest.
Don't reject Him, don't reject Him,
Don't reject Him now;

He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.

5. Verse 4
Come then and join this holy band,
And on to glory go,
To dwell in that celestial land,
Where joys immortal flow.
I will trust Him, I will trust Him,
I will trust Him now;

He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.
