Generations from Adam to Noah

The Hebrew word "רמז" (remez) ≈ "remez". There are many places in the Old Testament that have hint of what can be considered a "remez".

From the Hebrew, a "remez" is a hint of some deeper meaning.

A "remez" is a form of what in the security field is called "steganography". That is, a message concealed such that it does not, at first glance, appear that there is a hidden message there.

In pre-flood times, as in some cultures today, names of people have a meaning.

Sometimes the meanings make sense. In other cases, the meaning has been lost.

In pre-flood times, the meaning of the names in the genealogy from Adam to Noah appear to make a statement about the Gospel story.

As an example, take the names of the first ten generations in Genesis and their meaning in the original language.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. [kjv]

The Hebrew word "אדם" (adam) ≈ "man, clay, red". The name "Adam" means "man" or, literally "dirt" or "clay", from which man is made. As a color it is "red".

The ancient Greek word "χοῦς" ≈ "capacity, soil, dust".

Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. [kjv]

The Hebrew word "אדם" (man, Adam, dirt) ≈ "Adam". This word has several meanings in the Hebrew.

The first man, created by God.
Dirt or clay of a reddish-brown color.
The color "red" is in "ruddy".

The Hebrew word "שת" (seth) ≈ "appointed/placed". Seth means "appointed" or "placed".

The Hebrew word "אנוש" (Enos) ≈ "Enos, mortal". Enos means mortal, frail

It appears that "calling on the name of the Lord" may have been in a profane way and not in a reverent way.

There is some ambiguity on the meaning of Cainan.

Kenan (Luther Bible, not Cainan, others) means sorrow or dirge. In the Hebrew (and Greek) the difference is not clear.

Mahalaleel means the blessed or praised God.

The Hebrew word "ירד" (yered) ≈ "descend". In Hebrew, Jared means "shall come down". It is during his time that it appears that the angels that left their habitation did their deeds.

The English word "Jared"comes from the Latin word "Iared" ≈ "Jared" which comes from the ancient Greek word "Ἰαρέδ" ≈ "Jared" which comes from the Hebrew word "ירד" (yered) ≈ "descend, go down".

The Hebrew word "ירד" (yered) ≈ "descend, go down". This word appears often in the book of Jonah where Jonah descends or goes down very far.

Enoch means teacher, teaching, commencement. This is mentioned in Jude.

Methuselah means "his death shall bring". The year Methuselah died was the year that the flood of Noah came. This is determined by using the years and durations given in Genesis.

Genesis 4:23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. [kjv]

Lamech means lament, lamentation, despairing. The English word "lamentation" comes from that Hebrew word.

The word "Noah" means comfort or comforter.

Seth = appointed (Gen 4:25)
Enos = mortal/frail/miserable/incurable
Kenan (not Cainan) = sorrow/dirge or acquisition (i.e., sin)
Mahalaleel = blessed/praised God
Jared = shall come down (verb form)
Enoch = teacher/teaching/commencement (Jude 1:14)
Methuselah = his death shall bring (the flood)
Lamech = lament/lamentation/despairing
Noah = comfort/comforter (Holy Spirit)

So, the first ten generations using their original meanings can be read as follows:

Man is appointed a mortal sorrow or acquisition (sin), but the blessed God shall come down teaching that his death shall bring the despaired for comforter

Is this not a short statement of the redemptive/salvation plan of the Creator?

How did this message get encoded in the Bible thousands of years before it actually happened?

Moses wrote down Genesis. So did Moses write of Jesus?
