1. SPUM: Wesley Friendship Class history
, Here is some history on the Wesley Friendship Class from a pamphlet created about 1998 (or later, exact date to be determined).

, Photo: The first church building was used from 1853-1903. This was the UBC (United Brethren in Christ).

There were two adult Sunday School classes. These two classes were combined to form the Wesley Friendship Class at the time this pamphlet was created.

, Photo: Harvest Home Service, held in the fall of the year, between 1890 and 1910. It was sponsored by the Men's Bible Class, with the food going to Quincy House.

The first records (1889) had seven classes with attendance of 60 to 75.

In 1912, a new church was needed. ... Average records indicated an average attendance of 300.

, In 1924, the church was enlarged to include a three story addition for Sunday School.

This is the building on East High Street a block or so from the square.

Primary in their concern was the support of missions.

Many cakes, pies, aprons and quilts were sold throughout the town to aid in support of these projects.

As the two classes - the Men's Class and the Ladies Bible Class - continued to be supportive of the church programs, one factor became evident.

By 1970, each group was becoming smaller and less able to continue as a separate class. The solution - a merger.

The location of the Wesley Class has changed. And it is with a bit of regret and sadness that we must change also. But one thing remains - the story told is ever the same! So don't think of this as the end of the class. Think of it as moving-on-up.
