1. Virgin birth
Why the virgin birth? The curse:

6. Throne
To sit on the throne of David, Jesus needs to be of the legal line and of the blood line of David.

The legal line has a curse of Jehoiakim by Jeremiah. Jeremiah, the "Weeping prophet", is in Jerusalem in the time of Nebuchadnezzar - while during hist later ministry, Daniel is in Babylon.

7. Why the virgin birth?
Verse routeJeremiah 22:30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah. [kjv]

9. Problem
The problem is that the Messiah needs to be of the blood line of David while the King needs to be of the legal line of David. How do we get around this dilemma?

10. Job 42:15 Inheritance
Verse routeJob 42:15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. [kjv]

Could women inherit (property, goods, etc.) in Bible times?

[kjv]

Verse route36:6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. [kjv]

Later, in the promised land (Moses did not enter the promised land), Joshua has to check and verify and then give the daughters their lawful inheritance.

20. Getting around the curse

21. Genealogies
So the different genealogies of Matthew (legal line) and Luke (blood line) show the subtle clarity of scripture.

22. Getting around the curse
Genealogies: This avoids the curse proclaimed by Jeremiah.

23. The sceptre shall not depart from Judah
A prophecy in Genesis 49 was/is taken by the Jews to be a sign of the (coming) Messiah.

Verse routeGenesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. [kjv]

Greek: ουκ εκλειψει αρχων εξ ιουδα και ηγουμενος εκ των μηρων αυτου εως αν ελθη τα αποκειμενα αυτω και αυτος προσδοκια εθνων
Within a few years after Herod the Great died, shortly after the birth of Jesus and after which Joseph and Mary returned from Nazareth, the Romans took control of Judea. In about 6 A.D., The Roman ruler Caponius removed the power of the sword (i.e., capital punishment) from the Jews, so that "the scepter had departed from Judah".

Wycliffe: Thanne Pilat seith to hem, Take ye hym, and deme ye him, after youre lawe. And the Jewis seiden to hym, It is not leueful to vs to sle ony man;
Tyndale: Then sayd Pylate vnto the: take ye him and iudge him after youre awne lawe. Then the Iewes sayde vnto him. It is not lawfull for vs to put eny ma to deeth.

26. Caponius
It is recorded in the Babylonian Talmud that after the decision by Caponius to remove the power of the sword, the priests in Babylon morned the fact that the "scepter had departed from Judah" but Shiloh (the Messiah) had not come.

In the town of Nazareth, a carpenter boy was growing up - the Messiah.
