White Christmas is an Irving Berlin song. It was first conceptualized on New Year's Day, 1940, in an area that does not often have snowfall. Irving Berlin was a Jewish-American songwriter who also wrote "
God Bless America" and many other well-known songs.
It was first performed by Bing Crosby on a radio show on Christmas day, 1941. The later Bing Crosby record recording become the most popular recording of all time.
