The word "chemistry" was coined in 1605 from the Latin word "alchimista""alchemy" for an Arabic word "اَلْكِيمِيَاء‎" (al-kimiya) ≈ "alchemy" which is the Arabic word "اَل‎" (al) ≈ "a, an" and Arabic form of the ancient Greek word "χυμεία" (hee-MEE-a) ≈ "art of alloying metals" which is the modern word for "chemistry". This word is traced back as follows.
Note: Many English words that originated in Arabic have the "al" prefix, such as "alchemy" (this word), "algorithm". "algebra", etc.
Atomic orbitsA major part of chemistry is a field of science involving electrons and atoms. Otherwise, a specialized prefix is used, such as nuclear chemistry.

Periodic chartThe periodic chart of the elements is a common site in a chemistry classroom, book, etc.

3. Bible references
The GNT (Greek New Testament) and LXX (Septuagint) use some of the above Greek words, usually in the sense of "pouring", "shedding", etc., and often with a prefix that modifies the original word.

Some words appear to have connotation of a mixture as in an alloy created as a mixture of melted elements that could be poured.
