The Romans knew about China but the Parthian Empire lie in between. The "
silk road" was thus not easily traversable.
There are a number of places in the Bible that appear to reference the land of China.
The land of China is sometimes called the "
orient" as in "
to the east".
2. The Great Wall of China
In ancient times, the Great Wall of China was built as a series of forts and walls to protect the northern borders of China from outside invaders. The Great Wall of China was known as the "
Ramparts of Magog" in ancient times. The purpose of the wall was to protect China from Magog. Magog is part of the Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophecies.
The wall of China did not work very well on numerous occasions. How did the attack by
Genghis Khan (Emperor of the Mongol Empire and China) on Great Wall of China succeed? For reference, this happened about 1200 A.D.
Today, in the security field, there is something known as the "
Great Firewall of China" in reference to information security protection on incoming and outgoing data packets.

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. [kjv]

It is not clear as to who the "
Kings of the East" are. The usual assumption is that east appears to be east of Jerusalem and east of the Euphrates River.

Revelation 9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. [kjv]

The "
army" described in Revelation 9:16 is numbered at
200,000,000 or two hundred million.
Throughout the ages, this idea was dismissed as no one could conceive of an army of two hundred million soldiers or horseman.
China today could call up that many soldiers although the logistics of getting that many soldiers fighting in one place would be very difficult.

Some ideas:
Perhaps the number of two hundred million is not correct.
Perhaps the idea of a "horseman" represents something other than a human soldier.
There may be other ideas that fit this verse.

Revelation 9:17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. [kjv]
και ουτως ειδον τους ιππους εν τη ορασει και τους καθημενους επ αυτων εχοντας θωρακας πυρινους και υακινθινους και θειωδεις και αι κεφαλαι των ιππων ως κεφαλαι λεοντων και εκ των στοματων αυτων εκπορευεται πυρ και καπνος και θειον [gnt]
In modern day terms, the idea of a "
tank" appears to fit the following description. What else might fit this description?

Whatever the weapons are, they appear to be powerful.
The idea of "
brimstone" might be associated with a "
nuclear" weapon.

plagues" to kill.
