Not forgetting to remember the forget-me-nots
1. Not forgetting to remember the forget-me-nots
The Greek word for "
forget" appears many times in the
LXX (Septuagint) and
GNT (Greek New Testament).
Did you ever put something in a place where you would not forget it and then forget to check that place?
2. Forget-me-nots
The "
forget-me-not" flower has the genus name "
myosotis" from the ancient Greek word
"μυοσωτίς" ≈ "mouse's ear" as the flowers appeared to resemble the ear of a mouse.
In Greek mythology, Zeus had given all the plants names. Then a blue flower spouted off "
forget me not". This then became the name of the flower.
3. Scorpion grass
The forget-me-not is sometimes called "
scorpion grass" since the head of the flower looks similar to the tail of a scorpion.
Not related to the flower, but the Greek word for "
scorpion" is used in the
GNT.
4. Acts 26:26
KJV: For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

The

ignorant".

Today, most scientists deny that the flood of Noah ever happened - given the geologic features present today.
The idea in the Greek is that they willingly let it escape their notice.

We should not let this thing "
escape our notice".
