This useful yoke is not easy

Proverbs 20:10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD. [kjv]

Eventually, some form of weights and measures are created for precious metals and money. This leads to some form of standardization and, of course, ways to "cheat the system". God does not like this type of "cheating".

The word for "weight" above is «ζυγοις».

The modern Greek word "ζυγός" (zee-GOS) ≈ "yoke". The prefix «ζυ» is related linguistically to «δυ» as in double or two. A balance scale has two sides connected together.
The modern Greek word "ζυγίζω" (zee-Y-zo) ≈ "weigh" which has roots in the weighting of something using a balance scale.
These words are related to the English "yoke" and German "Joch" which have roots in the PIE (Proto Indo-European) root "yeug" ≈ "to join" from which the Greek terms develop.

The English word "soft" is related to the German word "sanft" ≈ "soft, yielding". The Old English word "winsum" ≈ "beautiful, pleasing".

The ancient Greek word "χρηστός" ≈ "useful, good" and is sometimes used in the GNT (Greek New Testament) as a play on words with"χριστός" ≈ "anointed one, Christ" as in the English word "christen".

The Latin word "suavis" ≈ "sweet, pleasant, delicious" and is the source of the English word "suave" and related "sweet".

The word "yoke" shows a change from hard "g" in Old English to softer "y" in modern English.

In 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul talks about being unequally yoked, believer with unbeliever.

The KJV (King James Version) translates "lawlessness" as "unrighteousness" instead of "against the law".
