Genetic entropy

1. Genetic entropy
This page is under development.

2. DNA: code introduction
DNA basesDNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) is known as the code of life, a (fairly) fault-tolerant digital code. It contains the building blocks of plant and human life.

All 20 human amino acids can be created with these building blocks and are used to make complex molecules called proteins which make enzymes.

Together, proteins and enzymes control almost everything that happens in life from conception through life until death.

3. Genetic entropy
DNA codeThe concept of genetic entropy is the tendency of the coded information in genetic material to accumulate mutations and degenerate over time due to errors in the copying process.

4. Problem description
Ignoring God and the Bible for the moment, the primary problem facing humanity (unknown except to those studying it) is that of genetic entropy which is the collection of basic genetic mutations at the rate of a hundred bits or so (out of 6 billion bits, a nucleotide has 2 bits) every generation. It appears that this degeneration rate inherently limits the long term viability of humanity. One question from this is how the genetic information ever was much more perfect in the past. Another question is how soon a genetic meltdown will happen and what will that transition be like. Some symptoms would be increasing prevalence of new and different genetic disorders. It is easy to attribute these to environmental factors rather than inherent mutations in the genetic information over time.

5. J. C. Sanford
Book: Genetic Entropy
The genetic entropy angle was provided by J. C. Sanford who was a respected geneticist with many publication and funding for projects, etc., until he became a Christian and let everyone know about the little secrets about the degradation of DNA and genes over time and the consequent results.
Dr. John Sanford has been a Cornell University Professor for more than 30 years. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin in the area of plant breeding and plant genetics. While a professor at Cornell, John trained graduate students and conducted genetic research at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, NY. amazon.com (as of 2024-01-25)

6. Pharaoh and Jacob
From the Bible, we know that Shem lived 600 years and was still alive in the time of Abraham. It is not clear how long Japheth lived. Genetic changes that result in limited lives. [genetic entropy]

Epigenetics is where genes are effected by what you are exposed to.
