All three uses of this word in the GNT (Greek New Testament) are in Revelation. The word appears several times in the book of Esther in the LXX (Septuagint).

Crown
The Greek word for "diadem" is that of a headband-like "crown" appears several times in the book of Esther.

The word is used in the hymn "All hail the power".

5. Revelation 13:1 Headband as a crown

Crown
The ancient Greek word "στέφανος""that which encircles, surrounds, crown" and comes from the ancient Greek word "στέφω""encircle, put around". This is not the Greek word used here.
The KJV (King James Version) translates as "crowns" the Greek word that means "headband" as in the crowns worn by Persian kings. In the LXX there are three uses in Esther as the crown of a Persian king and several in Isaiah.
