Here we are doing a sharpened focus on weddings and the Monday and Tuesday of the creation week. In the process, interesting connections are made and two linguistic issues with the creation week (not science related) are identified and discussed.

It appears to be onomatopoetic in that it sounds like what it represents in the same way as "
barbarian" in Greek (future topic).
In the creation week, God spoke everything into existence (blah, blah, blah, if your point of view is not focused) and, as we will see, had a blah (not really good) Monday.

God" is taken to be the creator God of the universe and everything in it, as in Genesis 1:1.
The phrase "
a recent new beginning" uses words that, in
PIE languages, are related, as are all people going back in time.

Both the Bible and current scientific thought (since the end of the 19th century) agree that there is a
beginning to time and an
end to time as we know it. The two viewpoints disagree on the time scale.
Modern secular view: Due to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, about 1900, it was recognized that there must be a beginning of time and an end of time.
26. Declarative model of creation
The creation account in Genesis, in terms of creation days, provides a declarative model of the creation.
A declarative model of a system is a model that describes the what of a system but not the how (or why) of a system. This term is used in computer science and software engineering (as black box functional testing). At another interesting level, each day of the creation is associated with a declarative statement as God says or speaks (or declares) what is to be done.

Since time as we know it did not exist before the creation, forcing our concept of time as in days into the creation story may cause it not to make sense. A view of six literal creation days appears to have taken hold when a move was made to make the Bible a formal logical system (inerrant in every aspect) following this move in secular areas (including Boolean logic, etc.).
Any measure of time as we know it appears to rely, in part, on the speed of light, and it appears that the speed of light has not been the same at all times in the past.

There is no record of God seeing anything "
good" on the second day - Monday, in the Hebrew.
God had a "
blah" Monday in that he spoke things into existence but did not say it was "
good".

However, in the
LXX (Septuagint), God did see that it was "
good". What is going on here?
Did the LXX, translated from the Hebrew about 270 BC add this "good" part?
Did the Hebrew Masoretic text, standardized about 1,000 years later, remove the "good" part?
One motivation might be to have God say it was "
good" exactly seven times - a special number in Hebrew history. The
LXX has God saying it was "
good" eight times.

In general, the question, "
Which came first, the chicken or the egg" refers to a situation where there are two objects that each depend on the other and the problem is to determine which came first.
Somehow, the information for the egg needs to be within the chicken. This is a self-referential system.
In Genesis 1:11-12 we have an example of this with fruit, "
whose seed is in itself". Modern self-replicating programs provide an example of this idea.

KJV: And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Hebrew: ויהי ערב ויהי בקר יום שלישי׃

On the third day, Tuesday, God said it was "
good" twice.
The third day, Tuesday, is considered the day of double blessing by Jews. Weddings are often on this day.
You can now answer the following question. Why was the wedding in John 3 on the third day?

Amish weddings are usually on Tuesday or Thursday in Spring or Fall - outside of working time such as harvest, and cooler to keep food from spoiling - as I was told by two Amish men who I asked about this.

On the sixth day, Friday, God saw that it was good
two times, including "
very good" one of those times. For some reason, Friday, the day before the Sabbath, is a day of double blessing but not a traditional day for weddings.
Perhaps this is because one would need to end the festivities by sundown when the sabbath started. For that reason, it might have been better to celebrate on a Tuesday (avoiding any high sabbath, of course).

Day 7 is Saturday (evening before and that day).

The "
host" is, in Greek, what became the English word "
cosmos" and at the time the
LXX was translated meant "
adornments" where the stars were adornments in the heavens, as described by Pythagoras of Pythagorean triangle fame (or infamous if you did not like geometry or trigonometry).

Going back to Genesis 2:2, according to the Hebrew, God completed his work on the seventh day, Saturday. Did God do any work on the seventh day? That is the day God rested.

In the
LXX, however, God finished his work on the sixth day. Might this have been changed from "
seventh" to avoid some issue?
And God finished on the sixth day his works which he made, and he ceased on the seventh day from all his works which he made. (Brenton Septuagint translation)
It appears that the ending of work on the seventh day might have been a Jewish idiom. That idiom would not translate into Greek very well. Perhaps this is why the
LXX differs.

The
OCS (Old Church Slavonic) uses "
sixth" day. The modern Russian uses "
seventh" day.

The prime number "
seven" is related among many
PIE languages and is the basis of the seven day week going back to Genesis. The English word "
week" is related to many other words involving a "
