1. Mark 16:15-20 Pickup lines for serpents
The end of Mark has some interesting and intriguing verses about Jesus after the resurrection until his ascent into heaven.

2. Mark 16:15 Mandate
Verse routeMark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [kjv]

3. Mark 16:15
   Mark 16:15
 All
KJV: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

4. Mark 16:16
Verse routeMark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [kjv]

There is a logical part not covered here. Assume for now that "saved" is the opposite of "damned".

Believe and baptized
Believe Baptized Saved
No No No
No Yes No
Yes No ?
Yes Yes Yes

5. Mark 16:16
   Mark 16:16
 All
KJV: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

6. Mark 16:17
Verse routeMark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [kjv]

The "new" is not in the Greek. The "tongues" means "languages". One must make an assumption to have these "tongues" be the same as at Pentecost. If so, is this statement a one-time prediction or a prediction for many times.

In Matthew Jesus relates how someone can "cast out" "demons" but not be acceptable for other reasons.

7. Mark 16:17
   Mark 16:17
 All
KJV: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

8. Mark 16:18
Verse routeMark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [kjv]

Are the "take up" and "drink" idioms, figurative language, or something else? A purely physical interpretation does not appear to have meaning in reality.

9. Mark 16:18
   Mark 16:18
 All
KJV: They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Jesus then ascends to heaven.

11. Mark 16:19
   Mark 16:19
 All
KJV: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

12. Mark 16:20
Verse routeMark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. [kjv]

This completes the Gospel of Mark. Some Greek manuscripts have additional text in this verse.

13. Mark 16:20
   Mark 16:20
 All
KJV: And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
