The Latin word
"decaloge" ≈ "ten words" comes from the ancient Greek word
"δεκάλογος" ≈ "ten words" and is the source of the English word
"Decalogue".
The Jewish people and Hebrew texts refer to these as the "
Ten Words". There are various forms of the "
Ten Commandments" use by Protestants, Catholics, etc.
