apostles" are listed in the
GNT (Greek New Testament).
Identify an "
apostle" mentioned by Paul who is a woman? That is, at least until a thousand years later when some men in Rome decided that it must have been a mistake and changed the gender to a man.

In tracking down the scent of apostles and messages one must determine what it means to be sent (scent).
The word "
apostle" and "
epistle" mean sending.
The word "apostle", with prefix "apo", refers to the sending of a person who has a message to tell.
The word "epistle", with prefix "epi", refers to the sending of a message such as a letter to be read.
The English word
"angel" is another type of messenger.

Who is this "
Junia"?
Some believe, since "
Junia" was in Christ before Paul, and Saul became Paul was not that long after the resurrection, that her Aramaic name was used in Luke as "
Joanna", the wife of Chuza.
The Greek for "
kinsmen" is masculine plural and applies to both male and female if the context indicates this. The same applies to the Greek for "
apostles".

We see the name
"Joanna" again after the resurrection in Luke. This is after the discovery of the empty tomb.
The verses mentioning
"Joanna" in Luke clearly refer to a woman. Is this the same woman mentioned as a women at the end of Romans by Paul?
Some believe that this is likely while.some dispute this.

In the early church history,
John Chrysostom (347-407), archbishop of Constantinople, wrote the following concerning
Junia.
“Greet Andronicus and Junia . . . who are outstanding among the apostles”: To be an apostle is something great. But to be outstanding among the apostles— just think what a wonderful song of praise that is! They were outstanding on the basis of their works and virtuous actions. Indeed, how great the wisdom of this woman must have been that she was even deemed worthy of the title of apostle. Wikipedia

That "
Junia" was a woman was accepted by the Eastern Orthodox church and is maintained to this day.
The historical legend is that she was a martyr for her faith.
At some point in the Middle Ages, over a thousand years later, some men in
Rome decided that "
Junia" must be a man and changed the story, so to speak.

The quote from John Chrysostom (archbishop of Constantinople) and the recognition of the Eastern Orthodox church should not be underestimated.
The western empire based in Rome was the center of the Latin language and never adopted Greek as a primary language (which children learned growing up).
The eastern empire based in Constantinople was the center of the Greek language and never adopted Latin as a primary language (which children learned growing up).
If anyone at the time understood Greek and what it meant, it would be the eastern empire (a few hundred years from the event) rather than the western empire (over thousand years after the event).
26. Woman and men as helpers
Women were helpful to Paul and others throughout history and, like some men, have at times taken (or called to) important leadership roles.
