Reality of what is seen made of what cannot be seen
1. Reality of what is seen made of what cannot be seen
2. Genesis 1:1 Declarative models
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [kjv]
εν αρχη εποιησεν ο θεος τον ουρανον και την γην [lxx]
The "
declarative" model of creation is before Adam and Eve were created. The exact
way it happened
does not matter.
It does not make sense to try to map time and space of reality as is known now to the that period.
The "
historical" model of humanity started with Adam and continues to the present day. The exact
dates do not matter.
This is known more precisely since the start of written records and less precisely before then.
To show that the Bible is a true message from the creator, (fault-tolerant and error correcting) authentication codes are needed.
3. Reality of what is seen made of what cannot be seen
Atomic theory has to do with everything we see in reality being made of small things we cannot see - atoms. The name "
atom" comes from the Greek and means, literally, that which cannot be "
cut". Today, theories of physics and the results of experiments show that atoms are made up of smaller parts.
This means that everything we see in reality is made up of small things we cannot see - but those "
uncuttable parts" may be smaller than what we today call "
atoms". At least that is the physical reality or physics explanation.
More interesting than physical things are the abstract ideas or plans (e.g., in the mind of God) that are used to create what we see. Such ideas are not directly visible. That is, the distinction of "
it" from "
bit".
4. Romans 1:20 Invisible things
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [kjv]
τα γαρ αορατα αυτου απο κτισεως κοσμου τοις ποιημασιν νοουμενα καθοραται η τε αιδιος αυτου δυναμις και θειοτης εις το ειναι αυτους αναπολογητους [gnt]
What is the "
creation of the world"?
☐ Physical creation of reality by "
its" (atoms).
☐ Information creation of reality by "
bits" (information).
How do "
its" and "
bits" relate to "
body" and "
soul" of people in the world?
Jesus is the "
way" (opinion as in glory), the "
truth" (reality as "
its") and the "
life" (logic as in "
bits").
5. Romans 1:20
KJV: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Greek: τα γαρ αορατα αυτου απο κτισεως κοσμου τοις ποιημασιν νοουμενα καθοραται η τε αιδιος αυτου δυναμις και θειοτης εις το ειναι αυτους αναπολογητους
6. Hebrews 11:3 Things that appear
Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [kjv]
πιστει νοουμεν κατηρτισθαι τους αιωνας ρηματι θεου εις το μη εκ φαινομενων το βλεπομενον γεγονεναι [gnt]
What is the "
creation of the world"?
☐ Physical creation of reality by "
its" (atoms).
☐ Information creation of reality by "
bits" (information).
How do "
its" and "
bits" relate to "
body" and "
soul" of people in the world?
The Greek word for
"seen" is the word from which we get the English word
"phenomena".
A "
declaration" is a verbal statement. In computer science in general in programming language theory in particular, a "
declarative" model is a model where the specification (what you say) is the implementation (what you get).
7. Hebrews 11:3
KJV: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Greek: πιστει νοουμεν κατηρτισθαι τους αιωνας ρηματι θεου εις το μη εκ φαινομενων τα βλεπομενα το βλεπομενον γεγονεναι
8. Genesis 1:1: Declarative models and causal reasoning
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [kjv]
εν αρχη εποιησεν ο θεος τον ουρανον και την γην [lxx]
Genesis 1 is a
declarative model of creation and not a
procedural or
imperative model of creation. It says
what happened but not exactly
how it happened.
Word processors are declarative - WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).
Microsoft Word is "What you see is what you hope to get".
Spreadsheets are declarative (a simple functional language).
Programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., are imperative or procedural.
9. Atomic moment
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [kjv]
εν ατομω εν ριπη οφθαλμου εν τη εσχατη σαλπιγγι σαλπισει γαρ και οι νεκροι εγερθησονται αφθαρτοι και ημεις αλλαγησομεθα [gnt]
The ancient Greek word
"ἄτομος" ≈ "uncut, indivisible, individual". This word is used by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:52 in reference to time.
The modern Greek word
"άτομο" (A-to-mo) ≈ "person, atom".
10. Democritus
The ancient Greek philosopher and scientist Democritus (c. 460 - c. 370 BC), with some others, proposed an idea that today would be called "
atomic theory". None of his work survives but many written accounts by others fill in some details.
That theory of atoms and molecules was not established until about 1900. Einstein and his 1905 paper on Brownian motion helped finally establish the atomic theory as an accepted reality.
11. Planck length
Some take this "
moment", or "
twinkling of an eye", as a Planck length, named after Max Planck (1858-1947). This length is the smallest measurable length of (quantized) time (or space) that has any meaning. This as about
1.6x1035 meters or about
1020 times the size of a proton.
12. 1 Corinthians 15:52
KJV: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
13. Aristotle and atoms
Aristotle refers to the atomic theory of Democritus.
Aristotle often uses the ancient Greek word
"ατομος" ≈ "indivisible" to discuss length and time.

14. Strongs - instant
- *G823 *1 ἄτομος (at'-om-os) : from G1 (as a negative particle) and the base of G5114; uncut, i.e. (by implication) indivisible (an "atom" of time):-- moment.

15. Usage - instant
16. Atomic orbits
Richard Feynman was one of the top physics personalities of his time, after Albert Einstein and before Steven Hawking.
Shortly after electrons were discovered it was thought that atoms were like little solar systems, made up of a … nucleus and electrons, which went around in “orbits,” much like the planets … around the sun. If you think that’s the way atoms are, then you’re back in 1910. (From his book on
QED).
The orbit model is a nice way to think of and work with atoms, as long as one does not take the model literally.
17. Invisible God
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: [kjv]
18. Colossians 1:15
KJV: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Greek: ος εστιν εικων του θεου του αορατου πρωτοτοκος πασης κτισεως
19. Creation
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [kjv]
The word "
things" is inferred but not present in the Greek. The Greek word for "
things" is for tangible things.
Do the invisible "
things" include atoms?
Do the invisible "
things" include ideas, thoughts, etc.?
20. Colossians 1:16
KJV: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Greek: οτι εν αυτω εκτισθη τα παντα τα εν τοις ουρανοις και τα επι της γης τα ορατα και τα αορατα ειτε θρονοι ειτε κυριοτητες ειτε αρχαι ειτε εξουσιαι τα παντα δι αυτου και εις αυτον εκτισται
21. Holding things together
Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [kjv]
22. Colossians 1:17
KJV: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Greek: και αυτος εστιν προ παντων και τα παντα εν αυτω συνεστηκεν
23. Chemical elements
The discovery of the periodic chart of the atoms in chemistry, due in large part to the work of Mendeleev (1834-1907) show the digital nature of atoms.
The work of Planck and Einstein confirmed this idea.

24. Quantum theory
The rise of quantum theory in the early 20th Century showed that, like coded information, there is a digital aspect of the fundamental reality.
