The fallacy of general revelation
by RS  admin@creationpie.com : 1024 x 640

1. The fallacy of general revelation
These ideas are being developed.

2. The fallacy of general revelation
A "revelation", such is the Book of Revelation, is a "revealing" of something, usually some form of "truth".

The Bible is knows as a "special revelation".

The idea of "general revelation" is that truths can be revealed by God's creation. This idea sounds interesting and innocent. However, the same ideas can be twisted and used by false teachers to allow God's creation, as in science, etc., to supersede or take precedence over what the Bible says.

3. Bible verses
There are known Bible verses that are often used to support the idea of "general revelation".

4. Romans 1:20 Invisible things
Verse routeRomans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [kjv]

Levels of truth Way Truth Life
What is the "creation of the world"? How do "its" and "bits" relate to "body" and "soul" of people in the world?

Jesus is the "way" (opinion as in glory), the "truth" (reality as "its") and the "life" (logic as in "bits").

5. Romans 1:20

   Romans 1:20
 All
KJV: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Greek: τα γαρ αορατα αυτου απο κτισεως κοσμου τοις ποιημασιν νοουμενα καθοραται η τε αιδιος αυτου δυναμις και θειοτης εις το ειναι αυτους αναπολογητους

6. Hebrews 11:3 Things that appear
Verse routeHebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [kjv]

What is the "creation of the world"? How do "its" and "bits" relate to "body" and "soul" of people in the world?

The Greek word for "seen" is the word from which we get the English word "phenomena".

A "declaration" is a verbal statement. In computer science in general in programming language theory in particular, a "declarative" model is a model where the specification (what you say) is the implementation (what you get).

7. Hebrews 11:3

   Hebrews 11:3
 All
KJV: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

8. The reign/rain of Jesus
Verse routeMatthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. [kjv]

Verse route7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [kjv]

Verse route7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. [kjv]

House on rock words House on sand words
Jesus says that the Father sends rain on both the just and the unjust. Some of that "rain" is sent on houses built on "sand" and on "rock", with different results.

9. Matthew 5:45

   Matthew 5:45
 All
KJV: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Geneva: That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euill, and the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and vniust.

10. Declarative models
Verse routeGenesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. [kjv]

Declaration of IndependenceWhen you "declare" something, like the "Declaration of Independence", you state that something is what you want it to be.

A declarative model of a system is a model that describes the what of a system but not the how or why of a system.
This distinction made is made in computer science and software engineering (and other areas).

11. Creation week
Verse routeGenesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [kjv]

The creation account in Genesis, in terms of creation days, provides a declarative model of the creation where God "speaks" things into existence.

Verse routePsalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. [kjv]

As God can declare that things exist, the heavens can declare the glory of God.

12. Genesis 1:1 Declarative models
Verse routeGenesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [kjv]

Model of creation
The "declarative" model of creation is before Adam and Eve were created. The exact way it happened does not matter.

It does not make sense to try to map time and space of reality as is known now to the that period.

The "historical" model of humanity started with Adam and continues to the present day. The exact dates do not matter.

This is known more precisely since the start of written records and less precisely before then.

To show that the Bible is a true message from the creator, (fault-tolerant and error correcting) authentication codes are needed.
