Matthew 24: Wars and rumors of wars
by RS  admin@creationpie.com : 1024 x 640

1. Matthew 24: Wars and rumors of wars
Many have heard of the "wars and rumors of wars" verse that is part of the Olivet Discourse by Jesus in Matthew 24.

In Matthew, when the disciples ask about the last days, Jesus talks about the last days in the Olivet discourse, where he talks about "all of it".

One series of verses is quite interesting. Jesus refers to what Daniel talks about which is related to Hanukkah and the "silent years". Jesus, like John in Revelation, makes technological statements that were not possible until modern times and the era of the "smart phone".

2. Matthew 24:3
   Matthew 24:3
 All
KJV: And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
The "Olivet Discourse" tells about "all of it".

3. Matthew 24:5
   Matthew 24:5
 All
KJV: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
What does it mean to say "I am Christ"? How is deception done?

4. Matthew 24:6
   Matthew 24:6
 All
KJV: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
The "wars and rumors of wars" is not a sign of the final "end times", because the "end is not yet".

5. Matthew 24:7
   Matthew 24:7
 All
KJV: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
We have "wars", "famine", "pestilences" and "earthquakes".

6. Matthew 24:8
   Matthew 24:8
 All
KJV: All these are the beginning of sorrows.
This is just the "beginning".

7. Matthew 24:9
   Matthew 24:9
 All
KJV: Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Great "persecution" and "hatred" will result.

8. Matthew 24:10
 All
KJV: And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Many will be "entrapped" or "ensnared" to "betray" one another and "hate" one another.

9. Matthew 24:11
 All
KJV: And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
What is a "false prophet"? How is "deception" done?

10. Matthew 24:12
 All
KJV: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
The word for "iniquity" means a change (opposite) of traditional laws and customs.

11. Matthew 24:13
 All
KJV: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

12. Matthew 24:14
 All
KJV: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

13. Smarter phones than the pastor
Verse routeMatthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: ) [kjv]

This is one of many important prophecies of Daniel that is validated by Jesus. How is one to see the "abomination of desolation" in the Holy of Holies without a camera there and a worldwide communications network so that everyone can "see" it, say, on their "smart phone"?

How many references in sermons or talks have you heard where the speaker refers to "smart phones" and then,to get a few laughs, makes a comment about the "smart phone" being smarter than they are?

How many references in sermons or talks have you heard where the speaker refers to "smart phones" and tells you of the many prophecies in the Bible that did not make sense or could not come true until the world had a technology that can do what smart phones can do?

14. Matthew 24:15
 All
KJV: When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: )

15. Matthew and Mark
Be careful not to confuse the privet discourse about the end times in Matthew and Mark with the public discourse at the temple that is much the same, but with some important differences.
