Matthew 24: The Olivet discourse
1. Matthew 24: The Olivet discourse
2. Matthew 24: The Olivet discourse
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? [kjv]
In Matthew, when the disciples ask about the last days, Jesus talks about the last days in the Olivet discourse, where he talks about "
all of it" as in "
Ol-i-vet".
3. Matthew 24:3
KJV: And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4. Matthew 24:37 Public discourse
We skip 35 interesting verses about the end times to get to the verses of current relevance. This discourse is one of the longest recorded of Jesus, but almost never mentioned or covered in most churches. Why might that be?
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. [kjv]
Be careful not to confuse the privet discourse about the end times in Matthew and Mark with the public discourse at the temple that is much the same, but with some important differences.
5. Matthew 24:37
KJV: But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
6. Matthew 24:38-39
7. Matthew 24:38
KJV: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
8. Matthew 24:39
KJV: And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
