Some want everyone to be "
all in the same boat" as in "
all in the same vote" as if a majority vote makes something true. Are we "
better together"? Is there "
strength in numbers"? In terms of deciding what the Bible means, some people are
devoted to this idea and
the vote is very important to them.
In the
GNT (Greek New Testament), Jesus does not appear to use words starting with "
together", as in
together in group, in a favorable light.
In only three places in the
GNT are three words repeated. That is, a
three-peat (chiefly, those in Kansas City). The words "
holy holy holy" from Revelation form the basis of a hymn.
What song is from the three repeated words woe, woe, woe in Revelation?
Elmer Fudd best sings the song, Woe, woe, woe your boat.

house" is
"cut off". Perhaps they "
cut off" themselves as in separating themselves from the love of Christ - as the lost sheep that goes on the mountain.

"πίπτω" ≈ "fall". A related word is
"πτωχός" ≈ "beggar" and means, literally, one who has fallen. Jesus often refers to the
"poor" as those who are
"fallen" and need the
"Gospel" or
"Good News" which is the source of the English word
"evangelical".
Might there be a play on words of the "
great"
"fall" with the "
many" or "
city" in the (false) "
house" on the "
mountain" following the (false) "
light" who need the
"Good News" but, due to "
birds" and "
pigs" (who work for the "
birds") get
"cut off" and never got to hear (or were misled about) that
"Good News"?

The "
all in one boat" deception involves focusing on
"fear" and the "
boat" rather than on the "
wind" and then ignoring another passage in Matthew involving a boat and wind that would invalidate the intended deception.
The fallacies used are, among others,
faulty generalization,
selective evidence and
red herring (as a distractor). In short.
Get the other person to believe that you think they are very smart. False humility can be used.
Provide the person with selective evidence holding other evidence back.
The person arrives at the conclusion you want them to arrive at.
Tell the person how smart and clever and insightful they are.
Use distractors as necessary to focus attention on certain words and away from more relevant words.
The deception is complete.
12. Gilligan's Island
In the 1960's TV show Gilligan's Island, they were "
All in one boat". The problem was, the boat was stranded on a dessert island. As Bugs Bunny would say, "
What a maroon".
A professor at one university (at a department meeting) said that some classes with students were like Gilligan's Island where they wanted the professor to solve all their problems.
At that time, I mentioned Green Acres. He said that a talking pig would provide more class participation.
13. Doubt and wind
A good distraction is to claim the "
wind" creates "
doubt". All you need to do is not "
doubt". This is related to the "
faith" can "
move" "
mountains" fallacy. To be specific, the amount of "
faith" is not specified, neither is moving a "
mountain" specified as good or bad, it is "
the mountain" and not just "
any mountain", etc.
This appears to be an example of a bird (physically) flapping winds and (figuratively) flapping lips as an opinion is held up to provide false light to the entire house (on a mountain that cannot be hid and cannot remain).
14. Doubt and wind
In reality, the "
wind" appears to represent Satan the accuser. Rather than "
doubt", the "
wind" creates "
distractions" as "
deceptions" as in the "
temptations" or "
examinations" of Jesus.
In Greek, "
wind" and "
without law" or "
lawless" can be play on words.
"ἄνεμος" ≈ "wind, breeze, gale" and often used in verses with Satin or the devil as "accuser" throwing/breathing accusations.
"ἄνομος" ≈ "without law" which could be "lawless", "impious", "unmusical", "illegal", etc.
The
"against law" appears to be that of being
against one or both of God's two main laws.
Love God and God's laws. Not man's laws or man's added laws.
Love neighbor as yourself. Not bringing in the world's culture that goes against God's laws.

The context is after one of the feedings, here of 5,000 men not counting women and children.
Note that there are two feedings, each somewhat
different, to help prevent faulty generalizations except for deceptions using selective evidence, often for the purpose of deception.
Some pastors (and others) have done such misrepresentation using a specific basket in a specific feeding.

"float".
The modern Greek word
"πλοίο" (PLEE-o) ≈ "ship, large boat".

"ἀπο" ≈ "from" (with the idea of a separating distance) and
"λύω" ≈ "loosen, solve".
In the
GNT, the meaning is sometimes
"divorce",
"cancel", etc.,where the translators make assumptions and then provide a more narrow meaning to support their assumptions. When Jesus is saying something with more than one meaning, the translators change or hide that additional meaning.

"βασανίζω" ≈ "examine, investigate" but became associated with "torture" and "torment". This same base word is used by Jesus to describe what the religious establishment had done to the "kingdom" of "heaven".

answers". What was the question? Then, Peter does ask a
question.
Anyone can walk on water if the water is frozen. This was a favorite battle technique of the Russians against the Germans on the Eastern Front of World War II. Walking on water is not easy if the water is liquid rather than solid.

Jesus uses the Greek word for

boat" rather than the
"wind" and what Jesus can do to the
"wind".

"fear" deception involves focusing on worldly
"fear" and "
friends" and not on what Jesus says
four times in
six successive
verses in Matthew 10:26-31 about what to
"fear" (i.e.,
deception that can kill both "
body" and "
soul" in "
hell").
64. Comparison
The "all in one boat" idea might be plausible when one looks only at this story in this chapter. The Bible often pre-empts any fallacies, deceptions, etc., by providing more than one story from which to draw theological conclusions.
